The General Service Office of AA ("GSO" to most members) is located at 475 Riverside Drive in New York City. GSO serves all AA groups in the United States and Canada, and also offers services to AA overseas, especially in countries where there is no service structure. While many other countries have their own GSO's, The US/Canada General Service Office, the earliest to be established, is generally regarded as the "senior" office. It serves as a clearinghouse and exchange point for the wealth of AA experience accumulated over the years, coordinates a wide array of activities and services, and oversees publication, all translations of, and distribution of AA Conference approved literature and service materials.

The A.A. Grapevine is the international journal of Alcoholics Anonymous. Written, edited, illustrated and read by A.A. members and others interested in the AA program of recovery from alcoholism, the Grapevine is a lifeline linking one alcoholic to another. The Steps, Traditions and Concepts are the magazines gudlines, and Grapevine articles articulate these unchanging principles through the current experiences and informed opinions of individual members/writers.
